Local Stories — 6-8 minutes

Today we?d like to introduce you to Carol Chenkin.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don?t you give us some details about you and your story.

After landing an entry position at Young & Rubicam?s, public relations company, Burson Marsteller in the late 80?s I worked for the
PR giant for more than 11.5 years first in the media department and eventually working my way up to a Vice President of Corporate
Entertainment Productions.

During my tenor with B-M I had the most incredible training and most amazing clients working on everything from the 200 Anniversary of the New York Stock Exchange, to the USPS and the Olympic sponsorship, American Express and working on bringing to life their membership has it privileges program, giving cardholder added value by having an Amex card and being able to go to the front of the line when they bought concert tickets, among other things.

Other clients included Listerine, J&J, Planters Peanuts, Schering Plough, and so many others. After leaving New York to move to FL, I opened my own Marketing company and for the last 23 years have to provide turnkey marketing services to a variety of companies both nationally and locally. We work on a retainer basis or do projects as well. We deal with all elements of marketing, digital/social media, Branding, graphics, collateral materials and more.

Today my clients are diverse and spread all business sector including, real estate, non-profit, to interior design and more.

Has it been a smooth road?

Nothing is a smooth road in life. I think that like all businesses you have learning curves as you develop your niche in and the services you provide. As a small boutique business, I have found it challenging it from time to time finding clients who say they want your help but have trouble following the strategic business advice and plans created.

In addition, it seems that when a business runs into a hard time many times the thing they want to eliminate is the marketing and that is really the one thing they should keep doing not stop.

I often tell new prospective clients that this is not a short-term endeavor. You need to be in it to win it! it takes time to build a company/ brand and you need to have the commitment to make that happen.

We?d love to hear more about your business.

As a business development executive, my goal is to help clients acquire new customers and grow their business through partnerships, enabling you to penetrate new markets, as well as deepen a presence and impact in existing markets. For clients with existing assets, or business concepts ready for development, we structure partnerships that maximize the value of those assets and concepts. Business development partnerships come in many different forms and must be constructed specifically for each opportunity.

Whether the relationship is based on content syndication, co-branding, white-labeling, product development, third-party vendors, internet advertising, licensing, revenue sharing, or other structure, CLC has done it before ? and we?re prepared to do it
for you now.

Business Development Approach:

*Strategy ? CLC Enterprises develops a strategy that can maximize the value of your assets and/or services. We then work with you to target verticals, identify prospects within those verticals, and prioritize prospects for engagement. All of this is done with agreed-upon goals so that we have a clear directive and are fully aligned.

*Introductions ? Through our broad and deep relationships, we will target, identify, and contact the appropriate entities and set up introductions with decision-makers, in order to create mutually beneficial commercial relationships and transactions.

*Structure ? We will use our expertise to create viable strategic partnerships that maximize results and benefit each of the parties.

*Negotiation ? Once we have identified and agreed upon the basic terms of a partnership, we skillfully draft term sheets, facilitate negotiations, and manage the process to ?get the deal done.?

*Management ? Regardless of whether you use internal staff to manage partnerships on an ongoing basis, CLC is available to support your team and your partners in implementing and optimizing partnerships.

Our goal is not simply to help you make more deals, but rather to help you make deals that result in long-term relationships and increased profits.

I am very proud of the clients we have and our long-standing relationships. Many of our clients may come to us at the beginning of a project or short-term contract but end up staying on with us. We have clients that we have been working with since we started the company. We are known as creative thinkers who give our clients specialized service. No two clients are the same therefore the work we put out for them doesn?t look the same or feel the same.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, it is a great city. It?s a city of opportunity and growth. I think this is a perfect place to have a business, you just need to know what your business offers and stick to the plan of how you will let people know who you are and what you offer.
